Thank you everyone! I'm pretty happy with how this photo came out. This is a single exposure and the snake was not photoshopped in and no HDR. When taking this kind of shot, I expose for the scene and use flashes to light up the foreground…
Excellent... Magnificent photo and well deserved 1st place, assuming it was not composed with the help of Adobe Photoshop or some other software. Please let us know what camera you used, speed, aperture, and what type of film of memory card (model,…
Nice snake! I ran into one the other day (they call them bull snakes here, but it's the same thing) If you fancy winning one of my bronze turtles in a 'guess the length of the snake' contest, pop here and give it a whirl…
Amazing! I visited Palmdale last winter and was told that the areas claim to fame was its springtime poppies..now I am a believer! The photo's composition is very smart (IMO) with the left foreground tan rock balancing the right background…
I'm originally from Allentown, PA and have roots in Brooklyn, NY. I'm a wildlife biologist/herpetologist in sunny Southern California. Pasadena to be exact! In case you were wondering - herpetology is the study of herpes, syphilis and some other diseases that make penises and vaginas fall off...........It is definitely not the study of reptiles and amphibians that some pseudointellectuals would like you to believe.
I love hiking and exploring and anything to do with the outdoors. Traveling is another thing I do quite often - I even did research in Costa Rica. It was on a island, off the coast...kinda like an amusement park and zoo in one, but then lots of people got eaten and it had to close. It was all because of some lazy greedy fat guy who I thought was eaten, but I swear I've seen him lately, but he's all thin now. I dunno.
