There are so many bears where I live that I can't have a bird feeder most of the year, however this one was one of the biggest.

I have never been fortunate enough to see a bear outside of a zoo before. Too cool.

The picture was taken in PA, in Bear Creek to be exact. It seeing that bear did cheer me up a little, so it's possible.

I'm really sorry about your dad. If you believe in such things, maybe he sent the bear.

Thanks, I took this picture the week my father died in a motorcycle accident. His side of my family are from Illinois and were staying at my mothers house when they called for me to see this huge black bear. Then they watched in disbelief as I ran outside with my camera and approached the bear. I admit I was a bit nervous, especially when I first got out there and wasn't sure where the bear went, and even more when it came around the corner of my house very, very close to me. It wasn't until I got a good feel for the bears body language that I finally calmed down.
