While driving by the Pentagon one day last month, on my way home from the office I noticed two large raptors flying in circles, over the Pentagon. I stuck my head out the window for a better look and low and behold! It was two bald eagles!! Seeing the eagles in and around the nation's capitol is no big surprise. They have rebounded back extraordinarily well in the area and I have even seen them flying over my community, 30 miles south of the city before but to see two flying over one of the biggest monuments of America brought me a sense of patriotism I have never before experienced. I only wish I had a camera and the ability to stop on hat oh so busy road way that runs along the flank of the Pentagon.

For those who maybe familiar with the area, my vantage point of them was from the exact same side the plane hit on Sep 11, 2001. Technically, they were probably more over the Potomac river but close enough to the Pentagon for it to count lol.

Anyway, thought it would be a cool experience to share.

Cool! I've seen them near there too, but never right over the Pentagon. That must have been a majestic sight.
